When it all feels too much, stop what you’re doing, stand up, and move to a new place to rest for a few minutes. Breathe deeply and slowly IN through your nose and OUT through your mouth. Let your breath calm you down and bring you back into your heart.
I love this affirmation: “All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this experience, only good will come. I am safe.”
I use it whenever I am facing a situation or problem that causes me to feel unsettled, worried, or angry. This perspective builds our trust that every person and situation is here to help us grow. It guides us to let go of the belief that if we’re feeling bad or uncomfortable, something has gone wrong.
Your needs first
YOU are the most important person in your life. If you don’t care for your own needs first, it is impossible to care for others in a truly aligned and wholehearted way. The best way to serve others is to be full and OVERFLOWING with love and joy. That means we need to do whatever we need to do to keep our cup full. I recommend asking yourself as often as you can remember: “What would be the most loving thing to do for myself right now?” Your inner guidance will never lead you astray.
Move your body
What our bodies crave the most during intense times of transition and transformation is movement. Not all the time (there’s great value in stillness) but most of us don’t move enough in ways that would truly support our inner process. Take time to shake out your body, to stretch your spine, and to massage your feet and hands. Move out the old, stale energy that is being pushed to the surface as you raise your vibration. Let it out!
Clear your space
This is a big one, and the one I often have a lot of resistance towards. I keep my home pretty darn clean, but there are a few places (on my balcony, shelves, and under my bed) that I tend to neglect. This clutter reflects places in me that I’m hesitant to change and shift. The beauty of the Universe is that if I gather my courage and energy and simply CLEAR OUT the physical space, I get immediate shifts in my inner space. We don’t always have to work from the inside out! Fengshui, baby.
I hope these practices bring you more ease during this intense time. Trust. It gets easier.
